Frequently Asked Questions

  • I have an injury, can I still do Pilates?"
It's important that you let us know about your injury or condition, this will help us to ensure that classes meet your needs and personal goals.
  • I'm unfit, will I be able to keep up?"
Pilates is a fantastic way to get back into exercise as it's low impact, meaning that we use gentle exercises to strengthen your core and body. We adapt the exercises for each person and our goal is for you to feel confident in the movements and your body. Classes are small and friendly and you will be suprised at how quickly you start to feel the changes in your body!
  • What should I wear?
Please wear clothing that you are comfortable in and can move in easily, but not too loose; your teacher needs to be able to see your alignment and how your body moves. We recommend that you wear grippy socks to help you with the exercises.
  • What should I bring with me?
You will need to bring your own mat. We use a 10mm mat for Pilates which is thicker than a standard yoga mat to provide more support for your body when you exercise. 10mm exercise mats can be found on Amazon as well as other stores. You may also like to bring a bottle of water with you. We supply all small equipment.
  • What if I can't make a class?
If you cannot attend a class we offer a swap system to clients. Swaps can be taken at any point during that block. Advance notice makes it more likely that we will be able to find a swap place for you.
  • How do I pay?
Payment for classes can be either made monthly or in half termly blocks. This makes payments clear and simple for you, secures your place and helps us manage the classes. Payments can be made by bank transfer or cash. You can also Pay As You Go, although we are unfortunatley unable to guarrantee your place and it will depend on class numbers. Please check before arriving at the class.
  • I'm pregnant, can I still join class?"
Firstly, congratulations! There are a lot of changes happening and Pilates is a great way to look after your body and take some time just for you. It is important that you let us know that you are pregnant as we need to adapt the exercises to be safe for you and the baby. You may find that prenatal pilates class may be more suitable for you - unfortunately, we are not running any at the moment, but very happy to recommend local prenatal classes for you.
